Precipitation is water released from clouds in the form of rain, freezing rain, sleet, snow, or hail delivering atmospheric water to the Earth. Once water makes contact with the ground it absorbs the minerals and harmful contaminants found in the ground.
Evaporation is the primary pathway that naturally oxygenated water moves from the liquid state back into the water cycle as atmospheric water vapor. Transpiration is the evaporation of water in the atmosphere from the leaves and stems of plants. Evaporation and transpiration naturally separates over 95% off all contaminants in the water as it becomes water vapor.
